Our Mission
At Songbirds we want our children to become curious thinkers and learners who are eager to explore the environments around them. We believe every child deserves to communicate.
We need to acknowledge that language is the foundation for children’s thinking and learning.
We will freely explore topics based on the children’s current interests and their choices.
Practitioners will extend learning opportunities and give opportunities
to ignite curiosity on topics which are clearly identified through the 3 I’s. (Intent, Implementation, and Impact)
We have taken the best parts of our favourite pedagogies and philosophies and created our own curriculum
and teaching style. The curriculum intends to put the child at the centre of their own development and education. The weekly activities our staff provide are child centred and free flowing, meaning they can
venture off in any direction dependent on the child’s interest or how they take in the information.
From this the staff get involved to provide further learning opportunities as and when needed.
We intend to cover all 7 areas of learning through various topics, these are not set month by month but
decided through inspired activities. During these topics staff will ensure children have the opportunities
to develop within all 7 areas of the Development Matters.

Our Curriculum
Your child will develop a life-long love of learning with our bespoke curriculum. Our early years experts work with your child through fun and play to discover their individual interests and passions, helping them to prepare for the future, right from the very start.
Ofsted
Staff offer a homely environment with a strong family feel. Children arrive excited, happy and settle quickly. They benefit from the calm, nurturing atmosphere and respond well to caring and sensitive interactions from their key person. This contributes well to children's emotional security and well-being.
Songbirds Animals
Located in our Forest School area we have two Rabbits (Marshmallow & Lugs)
We also have three Chickens (Pip, Penny & Pixie)
Both the Rabbits & Chickens roam around the outdoor area freely
during the day mixing with the staff and children.
When children interact with animals, they build the all-important senses of connection, empathy and caring. They feel a sense of responsibility and are curious to find out
more about the animals.
